ポーランド出身の船乗り作家です。
彼の『闇の奥』は、フランシス・フォード・コッポラの映画『地獄の黙示録』の原作です。
映画にお詳しい方は当然ご存知、映画に詳しくなくても、リヒャルト・ワーグナーのワルキューレの騎行を流しながら、ヘリでベトコンを攻撃していく場面は、非常に有名かと。
『地獄の黙示録』はベトナムが舞台ですが、『闇の奥』はアフリカのコンゴが舞台となり、植民地主義に警鐘を鳴らす。
途中でテーマがわからなくなった。わからなくなったら駄目なんですか？
