太宰の友人である檀一雄によると、以下の実体験からできたらしい。
１．太宰が熱海で豪遊、お金がなくなる。
２．帰ってこないので、檀が様子見にいく。
３．一緒に豪遊。お金がなくなる。
４．檀人質に、東京の井伏鱒二に金の無心にいく。
５．言い出せず、将棋をする。
６．その間に、檀解放。東京の井伏のところに行く。
７．問い詰める檀に、太宰が「待つ身が辛いかね。待たせる身が辛いかね。」 という。
日本国内に売っている食酢は、濃度が薄いのであまり腐食しませんが、海外の食酢（バルサミコ酢等）では泡が出るくらいでます。
